Since 1995, Solutions in Action has been working for the benefit and environmental health of Tibetan refugees and His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Tibetan government in exile, located in Dharamshala, India.
In India, through our Toxic Exposure Prevention Project, we have organized Environmental Health & Educational Service Projects such as 'Preventive Environmental Health' & 'Toxic Exposure Prevention' conferences, consultation and trainings for teachers, health workers, community & monastic leaders. Environmental Health Curriculum has been written, translated and disseminated to raise awareness within Tibetan exiled settlements in India.
As well, we have offered an Emergency Fund for Tibetans in extreme need situations. Recently, we have expanded our scope to include a few chosen individuals in need in the US. At times, we have also worked to promote service learning, intercultural dialogue, meaningful exchange between Tibetan and US students through the Tibetan-US Student Alliance. Upon request, we are open to leading student groups in Dharamshala, India in the future.
In the United States, we function as a Tibet Support Group whose aim is to educate the public about the plight of Tibet and other endangered peoples and the environments upon which they depend. We emphasize Tibet's powerful example of non-violence and compassion in their struggle for freedom, while facing human rights abuse and cultural genocide.
Please enjoy our website, which will help you to learn about our efforts to help Tibetans living in exile; about the complex challenges of the Tibetan situation and how you can be a part of our future efforts to help endangered peoples and the environmental health upon which they depend.
